A daily pill – what’s coaching?

by Maria on August 6, 2010

robot_arm_1_sideI finally got to respond to Mihai’s tag on coaching - my take on it.

So much is said every day about coaching, and most articles or blog posts speak very metaphorically.
My own metaphorical definition of myself as a coach is “being a professional muse”.

Coaching is seeing your life from another perspective.
It’s like being lifted to see 3D instead of being immersed in it.

It’s awareness. It’s ownership and taking change in your own hands.

Imagine that you’re the at the tip of the needle, in the most exquisite device operating on the human brain. You’re the needle – you decide where to puncture, and what connections to make. The coach is only the arm of the device, pointing in the right direction.
